When the Monterey Museum of Art and the Weston Collective planned a special exhibit of student photography, they wanted to engage visitors in a fun and creative way. Each student photo was taken in the black-and-white style of Ansel Adams and Edward Weston, and each was accompanied by an artist’s statement. To draw visitors into the experience, we turned the statements into transparencies that could be placed on a light table, similar to how you might look at a negative contact sheet. The use of the light table also encouraged viewers to create their own photos using analog photo filters to share on social media.
