Star Trek combadge: from wireframe to 3D print

Inspired by the replicators in Star Trek, I decided that designing a combadge for 3D printing would be a fun personal project to dive into learning Autodesk Fusion 360 and parametric modeling. Using a reference photo from the Star Trek: Prodigy animated series,  I modeled a badge that could attach magnetically for cosplay, printed it in PLA filament, and finished it in metallic paint.

The series of images illustrates the design process, starting with a wireframe, followed by a shaded model, a high-resolution render, and finally a photo of the 3D printed and painted object.
